Congratulations to our 2021 Cover Artwork Winner, Joseph Gray!

This drawing is a graphite rendering of a Shetland ram that Joseph’s family previously owned. Joseph’s son took the photo the drawing was based on.

Joseph’s art was used on our catalog cover and 2021 T-shirts!

Joseph grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee and is a self taught artist who leans more towards graphite and color pencils.  As a youth, he spent most of his free time in the outdoors and the rest of his time drawing on any and every scrap of paper he could get his hands on.  After graduating from Northwest Highschool in 1991, Joseph joined the United States Marine Corps, which landed him in the small eastern North Carolina town of Richlands.  Joseph and his lovely wife of 26 years run a small farm where they raised their three children along with their Corriedale and East Friesian sheep and horses.  The subject rich environment of the farm coupled with the encouragement from his wife and family has helped him to continue with his artwork.   This is the first time that he has officially entered into any type of an art competition and is very humbled to have been selected as the winner!
